Infrastructure and Laboratories

Data Management Plan
The Program recognizes the importance of proper management of research-related data. Therefore, it considers it necessary that the data resulting from the research developed be managed and shared to ensure the benefit for scientific and technological advancement. All data is stored in virtual folders on a homepage created specifically for this purpose, which contains folders and subfolders so that each participant in the project can store all the data generated. All copyrights are respected and, whenever possible, released in accordance with the set of Creative Commons licenses. The research follows the standards of the FAPESP Code of Good Scientific Practices and those contained in the Regulations of the Research Integrity Committee of the University of Franca. Graduate students at the University of Franca receive guidance on scientific behavior and conduct in various fields, including plagiarism, which is checked in the project by two anti-plagiarism tools: Safe Assign (UNIFRAN) or Turnitin, Urkundi (Spanish Universities).

Bioterium
The Program has a bioterium (256 m2) with biosafety level II, which meets the requirements of CONCEA, CEUA/UNIFRAN and all animal welfare standards. This bioterium is exclusively for keeping mice, rats, rabbits, pigs and dogs.

The Postgraduate Program in Animal Science has 24 research laboratories located in the Veterinary Hospital and in the Beige Block of UNIFRAN. Of these laboratories, 10 are multi-user laboratories.

Our postgraduate program offers students state-of-the-art infrastructure, with access to a park of modern and varied equipment, designed to support academic training and high-level research.

Space for Educational Activities
For educational activities, the Program has the UNIFRAN Veterinary Hospital, which is the largest teaching hospital in the Franca region, SP. In addition, the Program has a study room for the exclusive use of postgraduate students, and there is also a permanent block with 48 classrooms available. These rooms are equipped with audiovisual resources and wireless internet access. As corporate spaces, UNIFRAN has four more air-conditioned auditoriums with specific equipment (sound system, multimedia set – computer and projector, DVD and microphones) for use by its postgraduate students, in addition to technical staff specialized in audiovisual resources. The IES provides wireless internet, remote access to the library and the Student Computer Center (CDI), which includes a complex of videoconferencing rooms, for academics, postgraduate students and teachers. In addition, the PPG has a Webclass room, located in the library, where academics, postgraduate students and teachers have access to technologies for research and studies.

This sector occupies a physical space of 2,241.07 m2, distributed over two floors. It is located in an easily accessible area, with nearby parking and accessibility for users with physical limitations. The spaces are spacious, air-conditioned, well-lit and technically equipped with furniture appropriate for the collection and services provided. With a collection of 39,528 titles and 122,566 copies, a collection of databases and multimedia, the library meets the information demands of the entire university community and the general public. In addition to books, it provides e-book platforms: Pearson Virtual University Library, Minha Biblioteca, RT On-line, Target (ABNT), Revista dos Tribunais On-line, Dynamed Plus and electronic periodical platforms such as: DECs, BVS, Scielo, Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). The UNIFRAN library is registered with the Regional Council of Librarianship – 8th Region, under no. 2,058, and is integrated into the administrative center of the Campus, consisting of a single central building. It has the CAPES periodicals portal, one of the largest virtual databases in the world.
